About ScribeGrab

ScribeGrab is a free transcription tool that converts audio and video to text or SRT subtitles — no account required, no watermark, no files stored after processing. It supports 99 languages and dozens of file formats. ScribeGrab is part of the ShinobiTools suite of free AI-powered browser tools.

What to include in your message

Bug report: describe the file type, language, and what went wrong. If transcription accuracy was lower than expected, mention the audio quality (background noise, accents) — that context helps a lot.

Feature suggestion: describe the use case — what you were trying to do and why the current tool didn't cover it. We read every suggestion.

Question: check the FAQ on the home page and the guide pages first — most common questions are answered there.

Common questions before you write in

A few things are worth checking first, since they cover most of what people write in about. Files are limited to 60 minutes and 1.5 GB per upload — a longer recording needs to be trimmed or split before it will go through. There's no daily cap, so a rejected file was never about using the tool too often. Nothing is stored after processing: transcripts and subtitle files are deleted automatically, so if a download link stopped working the file is genuinely gone rather than sitting somewhere in an account — that's what "no files stored" means in practice, and it also means we can't recover or resend a result once it's expired.

If a pasted YouTube link wasn't accepted, use the full address (youtube.com/watch?v=… or youtu.be/…) rather than a shortened share link from another app; a channel page or a search-results page isn't accepted, only a link to one specific video. If the video itself has no audio track, or the link points at a private or age-restricted video, there's nothing to transcribe and the tool will say so rather than fail silently.
